Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. is seeking a motivated Material Handler to support operations by pulling, loading, and receiving steel materials. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

You will move materials using hand tools and equipment such as forklift and overhead crane, ensuring loads are secured and delivered to the correct location. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety procedures at all times.
• Ability to read work orders or follow oral instructions.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and to work outdoors/in various weather conditions.
• Basic math and measurement skills; ability to use hand tools as needed.
• Ability to work independently or in a team to meet productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods of work and immediately advise supervisor of unsafe conditions.
• Safely move steel to/from storage or production areas using hand, forklift, overhead crane, or other equipment.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet.
• Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads.
• Configure load based on planned route including multiple stops.
• Maximize load capacity on trailer without sacrificing safety.
• Maintain and safely operate all assigned tools and equipment (e.g., tape measure, caliper, hammer, pallet trucks, banding machine, micrometer, beam hooks).
• Determine safety issues pertaining to equipment and promptly report them.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather; exposure to typical local weather conditions.
• Maintain spatial awareness to move around a busy work area.
• Attend required company meetings.
• Read work orders or receive instructions to determine material or equipment needs.
• Plan and organize work activities independently; work alone or in a team.
• Develop knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
• Maintain inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills.
