Job summary

Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to read work orders, move steel safely, and assist in loading, unloading, and securing materials. This hourly role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and requires adherence to Safe Methods of Work in all conditions.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and cranes, applying proper bundling techniques, and maintaining equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to correctly read work orders or receive instructions to determine work assignments.
• Ability to meet productivity levels established by the Company.
• Ability to plan and organize work activities independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of product/inventory control techniques.
• Maintain inter-department communication on routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide).

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods of work and report unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
• Move steel to/from storage or production areas using hand, forklift, or crane and secure loads.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and walk/stand for long periods with PPE.
• Apply proper bundling techniques.
• Configure load based on planned route with multiple stops.
• Maximize load capacity on trailers without compromising safety.
• Operate and maintain tools/equipment (tape measure, caliper, forklift, crane, etc.).
• Identify safety issues with equipment and report promptly.
• Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Maintain spatial awareness around moving objects and people.
• Monitor activity in the work area and adjust as needed.
• Attend required company meetings.
• Other duties may be assigned.
