Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a motivated Material Handler to ensure safe, efficient movement of steel and materials. You will adhere to safety standards, support daily productivity goals, and assist with routine maintenance as needed.

This role offers opportunities for training and advancement within a growing steel-services company. Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 pounds, operate basic tools, and work indoors/outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Ability to read work orders or receive instructions to determine material and equipment needs.
• Capacity to meet or exceed minimum productivity levels.
• Ability to plan work independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of inventory control techniques and procedures.
• Good inter-department communication for routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods of work and report unsafe conditions.
• Move steel and materials using hand, forklift or crane as directed.
• Attach loads, secure materials and guide loads; climb onto vehicles as needed.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment; perform routine maintenance.
• Identify safety issues with equipment and report promptly.
• Participate in required company meetings and duties as assigned.
