Job summary

The City of Boston seeks a Program Director to support the STC program, ensuring grant compliance and effective regional operations. The role reports to the DHS Office of Homeland Security and focuses on violence prevention coordination with local field staff.

Responsibilities include program design, stakeholder management, and facilitating communications across agencies. Travel may be required to support regional initiatives and training exercises.

Qualifications

• Ten years of law enforcement management, military, or emergency management experience at an executive level.
• BA or BS degree in political science.
• Related fields in public policy, public health, psychology, sociology, criminology, international affairs or emergency management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the STC regional subcommittees, governance structure, and processes to ensure effective program implementation.
• Establish business rules for STC program-related work among regional partners.
• Draft, route, and review all STC documents at the subcommittee level and ensure follow-through.
• Coordinate with CWMD STC PMO staff to address action items and concerns.
• Identify key issues and prepare focused agendas and action items for subcommittee meetings.
• Ensure meetings end with clear guidance on tasks, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Assist state and local agencies in developing operational plans and protocols.
• Oversee selection and deployment of radiation detection systems.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
