Job summary

The City of Boston is seeking a Program Director to provide professional support to local field staff and lead the Securing the Cities (STC) program under DHS grants. This is a temporary, grant-funded position with regional leadership responsibilities across STC initiatives.

You will oversee governance, coordinate with multiple partners, and help implement violence prevention activities while ensuring compliance with grant mandates. Travel may be required to support field operations.

Qualifications

• Ten years of executive-level law enforcement, military, or emergency management experience.
• BA/BS degree in political science, public policy or related fields.
• Strong project management and business process improvement experience.
• Experience in counter-violent extremism, terrorism prevention, or public safety fields.
• DHS clearance preferred; ability to work with interagency partners.
• Excellent written and oral communication; strong stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee STC regional subcommittees, governance, and processes to meet program goals.
• Establish business rules for STC operations among regional partners.
• Draft and review STC documents at subcommittee level and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with CWMD STC PMO to address action items and concerns.
• Prepare focused agendas and action items for subcommittees to ensure productive meetings.
• Help develop written operational plans and protocols for agencies.
• Oversee selection and deployment of radiation detection systems.
• Work any assigned shift and perform related duties as required.
