Job summary

The State of Ohio is seeking a County Operations Supervisor (IT Manager 1) to lead a team of remote support technicians serving 88 county partner agencies. You will translate statewide directives into practical support, build strong relationships with county offices, and ensure dependable service and security.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate core coursework in computer science or a related major with courses in programming, databases, systems analysis, and data processing concepts.
• 18 months of project management experience as defined by the position description.
• Possess the equivalent of the minimum qualifications noted in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily remote technical support for county agencies, ensuring timely and accurate IT assistance.
• Travel to county and customer locations for on-site visits.
• Engage with customers to address operational and technical needs.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting guidance for scheduling, processing, and network issues.
• Lead testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of IT equipment including routers and switches.
• Respond to production-down and major incidents on a 24-hour basis.
• Plan for county network operations and endpoint support aligned with standards.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies to improve reliability and security.
• Develop project plans and document operational processes.
• Coordinate with OIS bureaus and other offices to align responsibilities.
• Assign work, set goals, and coach remote technicians.
