What You Will Do

The County Operations Support Supervisor leads a team of remote support technicians who provide front‑line IT assistance to all 88 county partner agencies across Ohio. In this role, you are responsible for turning statewide technical directives into practical, workable support that county offices can depend on every day. The work blends leadership, communication, and hands‑on technical problem‑solving in a fast‑paced operational environment.

A key part of this position involves building strong working relationships with both your team and county partners. You will help shape how technical support is delivered statewide and ensure staff feel supported, informed, and empowered. Counties rely heavily on clear communication and reliable service, and you will be a primary connection point for addressing concerns, coordinating troubleshooting, and maintaining trust across diverse stakeholders. Travel to county locations is part of the role and gives you the chance to strengthen those connections directly.

What makes this role especially rewarding is seeing the direct impact of your leadership. Your guidance helps technicians grow professionally, strengthens county operations, and supports essential services used by Ohioans every day. You will contribute to meaningful outcomes, drive operational improvements, and make a tangible difference in how county agencies deliver critical services statewide.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Oversee daily remote technical support for county agencies, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of network, hardware, software, and endpoint assistance.
  • Frequently travel to various county and customer locations for routine on‑site visits.
  • Engage with customers and technical point of contact to address operational and technical needs.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting guidance for complex scheduling, processing, and network issues, coordinating second and third level resolution efforts.
  • Lead and support testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of IT and telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, workstations, printers, and circuit components.
  • Respond to production‑down and major incident issues on a 24‑hour basis, coordinating restoration efforts and communicating status with county partners.
  • Participate in short and long‑term planning for county network operations and endpoint support, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and performance expectations.
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies (such as remote support platforms, monitoring systems, and endpoint management solutions) and recommend improvements that enhance reliability and security.
  • Develop project plans, document operational processes, and recommend enhancements that strengthen statewide service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other OIS bureaus and ODJFS offices to ensure consistent communication, coordination, and alignment on shared responsibilities.
  • Assign work, set goals, review performance, encourage staff development, and provide coaching and support for remote support technicians.
