Qualifications

• 4-year degree required.
• Masters or advanced degree preferred.
• CPA or Law license required.
• 8+ years state and local tax experience in a professional services firm.
• 2+ years supervisory experience and mentoring desired.
• Ability to lead and supervise others and deliver exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic state and local tax compliance and consulting to middle market and Fortune 500 clients.
• Manage multi-state reviews covering income, franchise, sales/use, and other taxes to identify optimal structures and incentives.
• Research nexus determinations and taxability analyses for complex matters.
• Counsel clients on state and local tax controversies and respond to audits and notices.
• Plan and execute tax projects including due diligence and voluntary disclosures.
• Prepare technical memoranda on state and local tax issues for various entities.
• Maintain active client communication and propose process improvements and value enhancements.
• Lead and mentor staff to meet staffing, billing, and profitability targets.
• Network with clients and professionals to grow the practice and participate in development programs.
