Job summary

South Dakota State Government in Pierre, SD is seeking a Grounds Crew Leader/Specialist. You will direct Grounds Keepers and perform maintenance of lawns, trees, flowers, shrubs, sidewalks, snow removal, and pesticide/fertilizer applications as required.

Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call. Benefits include health insurance options, a 6% retirement plan with disability and survivor benefits, life insurance, generous leave, and limited overtime.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Driver's License and CDL with airbrakes within 90 days of hire.
• Commercial applicator's license within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with pesticide and fertilizer application preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the work of Grounds Keepers.
• Maintain lawns, trees, flowers, shrubs, sidewalks and snow removal.
• Apply pesticides and fertilizer as appropriate and on schedule.
• Operate motorized vehicles and related equipment.
