Job summary

The State of South Dakota's Bureau of Human Resources and Administration is hiring a Grounds Crew Leader/Specialist in Pierre. The role directs Grounds Keepers and handles grounds maintenance, including lawns, trees, flowers, shrubs, sidewalks, snow removal, and applying pesticides and fertilizer when appropriate.

Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call nights or weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience with pesticide and fertilizer application preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor.
• Valid driver's license with CDL B and air brakes within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of landscaping, trees, and plant care.

Responsibilities

• Direct Grounds Keepers and assign daily tasks.
• Maintain lawns, trees, flowers, shrubs, and sidewalks.
• Snow removal and winter maintenance.
• Apply pesticides and fertilizers at appropriate times.
