Job summary

Pearson is seeking a State Adoption Advanced Specialist to own the strategy and post-adoption execution for CTE state bids. You will synthesize state requirements, analyze enrollment and competition, and guide Product and Content teams on what to submit to districts and state agencies.

This role partners with RFP/Bid Management and Sales, coordinates with districts through adoption reviews, and navigates state rules (Texas cone of silence).

Qualifications

• 3+ years in K-12 state adoptions or curriculum strategy in educational technology or related field.
• Experience with Texas state adoption process is especially helpful.
• Bachelor's degree in K-12 or CTE education market.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal SME on CTE state adoption processes, requirements, and timelines.
• Research state enrollment data and the competitive landscape for a given state adoption, informing title/product decisions that Product owns
• Interpret nuanced, state-specific submission requirements and translate them into clear guidance for the teams executing the bid
• Dig into state submission paperwork and requirements, and relay back to Product exactly what's needed in our courseware to clear a state's review hurdle
• Monitor state adoption calendars, legislative activity, and regulatory changes affecting CTE curriculum adoption
• Provide strategic context, requirements interpretation, and guidance to the RFP/Bid Management team as they prepare and submit bids
• Ensure submission strategy reflects accurate understanding of each state's adoption process — partner with Bid Management to support submission mechanics
• Continuously monitor state purchasing contracts and vendor agreements to stay current
• Track and maintain understanding of active state/district contracts, RFPs, and co-ops
• Serve as a customer-facing contact for districts during adoption review processes
• Manage official presentation and review dates with districts
• Navigate district communication rules including cone of silence in states like Texas
• Develop execution strategy post-adoption, including roadshows and engagement
• Advise on partnering with districts during sell-in after an adoption win
• Build relationships with state agencies to anticipate cycle changes
• Collaborate with Curriculum and Product teams to relay state nuance while Product owns product fit
• Document and share adoption process knowledge across the organization
