Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. seeks a Generator Service Technician to plan and execute work using a company vehicle, traveling to customer residences to repair and maintain whole home standby generators. You will read manuals and schematics, troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues, and update records in the software system.

Typical hours are Mon-Fri, 8 AM–5 PM, with weather-related adjustments as needed. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent; electrical certification is a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; electrical certification a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Physically able to perform duties including bending, stooping, ladders and uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily service/maintenance calls on Generac generators.
• Safely drive to customer residences in the service area.
• Communicate arrival, work performed and issues resolved with customers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain home standby generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams, blueprints and procedures.
• Test and operate automatic transfer switches and document work performed.
• Adhere to safety practices and complete paperwork in the system.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on backup power systems when required.
