Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Staff Test Infrastructure & Controls Engineer to lead the architecture and lifecycle strategy for propulsion test infrastructure, including static fire stands and GSE. You will guide cross-domain teams on design decisions, safety, and data integrity to enable safe, repeatable propulsion testing across multiple programs.

This role requires hands-on system build and troubleshooting, mentoring, and collaboration with propulsion, EHS, and operations teams to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of propulsion testing or similar high-consequence environments.
• Proven experience designing, integrating, or operating complex test infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in industrial controls, PLCs, and data systems.
• Knowledge of hazardous systems and safety analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture, design, commissioning, and lifecycle of scalable propulsion test infrastructure across R&D, qualification, and production stages.
• Lead design and integration of fluid systems and GSE with cross-domain interface control.
• Define industrial electrical and controls architecture for test facilities and automation.
• Own instrumentation and data acquisition architecture ensuring data quality from field to control room.
• Act as technical authority for static fire campaigns and test readiness.
