Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Staff Ground Support Engineer to own the architecture and lifecycle of propulsion test infrastructure, including static fire stands and integrated controls. You will lead cross‑functional teams across test sites, ensuring safety, data integrity, and scalable solutions for high‑energy propulsion programs.

You will collaborate with propulsion engineers, EHS, and operations to define readiness criteria, manage anomaly resolution, and drive improvements in test

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of propulsion testing or high‑consequence hardware experience with demonstrated leadership.
• Proven experience designing, integrating, or operating complex test infrastructure for hazardous, high‑energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture, design, commissioning, and lifecycle sustainment of scalable propulsion test infrastructure across multiple programs.
• Lead design and integration of fluid systems, including safety-critical interface control across mechanical, electrical, and controls domains.
• Define electrical and controls architecture for propulsion test facilities, including power, grounding, interlocks, and facility automation.
• Own instrumentation and data acquisition architecture, including sensor strategy, calibration, and data quality pipelines.
