Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Staff Ground Support Engineer to lead the architecture, integration, and lifecycle strategy for propulsion test infrastructure across solid rocket motor programs. You will oversee end-to-end design, commissioning, and sustainment, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to ensure safe, repeatable test campaigns.

Role requires hands-on build, modification, and troubleshooting at active test sites and field locations, with emphasis on data integrity,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of propulsion testing experience with system ownership and leadership.
• Experience designing, integrating, commissioning or operating complex test infrastructure for hazardous, high-energy systems.
• Strong proficiency in PLC-based control architectures and data systems.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials and safety analysis relevant to test ranges.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture, design, commissioning and lifecycle sustainment of scalable propulsion test infrastructure.
• Lead design and integration of fluid systems and GSE with cross-domain interfaces.
• Define electrical/controls architecture for test facilities and interlock safety.
• Own instrumentation and data acquisition architecture ensuring data quality from field to control room.
• Lead safety and readiness for static fire campaigns and anomaly resolution.
