Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado seeks a Senior Test Engineer to own the design, integration, build, and lifecycle support of propulsion test infrastructure, including static fire stands, GSE, and data acquisition systems. This hands-on role works at rocket test sites and remote locations, collaborating with test technicians and engineers to deliver safe, reliable test data.

You will lead campaigns, manage safety analyses, and partner with EHS to support test planning, hazard analysis, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering (or related).
• 4+ years in propulsion testing or hazardous hardware environments.
• Experience designing, integrating, or operating test stands and GSE.
• Familiar with PLC automation and NI-DAQ systems; CAD tools listed above.

Responsibilities

• Own design, integration, build, and lifecycle support of test infrastructure.
• Lead static fire campaigns and real-time test operations.
• Develop and maintain sensor integration, data acquisition, and control interfaces.
• Collaborate with test technicians, propulsion engineers, and operations.
• Ensure safety analyses and risk mitigation for all tests.
• Support cross-site standardization of test infrastructure.
