Job summary
CVS Health in Rhode Island is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - SRE to own programs that span observability, production readiness, incident management, and chaos engineering across thousands of stores and pharmacy locations. You will define standards, partner with domain owners, and drive adoption of OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and AI-assisted detection to reduce toil and improve reliability.
This role requires deep technical leadership, strong communication, and a track record of delivering
Qualifications
- 8+ years of SRE, platform engineering, or production systems engineering with program ownership.
- End-to-end ownership of at least one major SRE program at organizational scale.
- LLM integration for operational use cases (alert summarization, runbook generation, incident triage).
- Fleet-scale deployment reliability and drift detection experience.
- Organizational change management at program scale.
Responsibilities
- Architect observability platform strategy end-to-end.
- Define organization-wide reliability signals and domain health scores.
- Standardize SLI/SLOs across engineering domains with CUJ coverage.
- Design AI-enabled detection pipeline and incident triage tooling.
- Lead production readiness and chaos engineering programs.
- Oversee change management gates and deployment policies.
- Own on-call operating model and MTTR reduction program.
