Job summary
CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - SRE to lead cross‑domain reliability initiatives for our large retail and pharmacy platform. You will own observability, incident management, and platform reliability across thousands of store locations, shaping the way we monitor, respond, and prevent outages.
You will drive SRE program ownership, establish SLIs/SLOs, partner with engineering teams, and build scalable production readiness practices.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or production systems with program ownership.
- End-to-end ownership of at least one major SRE program.
- LLM integration for operational use cases (alerting and runbooks).
- Fleet-scale deployment reliability in large unattended node deployments.
- Organizational change management at program scale.
- Financial literacy for reliability program ROI.
Responsibilities
- Architect and own observability strategy end-to-end for large-scale services.
- Define and govern SLI/SLOs with cross-domain scope and CUJ coverage.
- Lead incident response, MTTR reduction, and runbook automation.
- Drive chaos engineering, GameDay exercises, and reliability testing.
- Collaborate with architecture reviews to embed reliability requirements.
