Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff-level SRE to own cross-domain reliability programs, build scalable observability platforms, and guide incident response with a focus on reducing toil and improving performance across thousands of locations.

You will lead initiatives in chaos engineering, production readiness, and developer experience, partnering with engineering leaders to deliver measurable reliability improvements at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE, platform, or production systems with demonstrated program ownership.
• End-to-end ownership of at least one major SRE program at scale (observability, PRR, incident model, or chaos).
• LLM integration for operational use cases (alert summarization, runbook generation, incident triage).
• Fleet-scale deployment reliability and rollout design for edge deployments.
• Organizational change management to drive adoption of new reliability standards.
• Financial literacy to quantify ROI of reliability programs.
• TIC certification or equivalent for leadership of P0/P1 incidents.
• Deep observability toolset experience: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, or Datadog.
• Kafka or streaming data platform experience for observability workloads.
• Policy-as-code and CI/CD gate automation (OPA/Conftest, Checkov).
• Advanced Kubernetes expertise: multi-cluster, edge deployments, network policies.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own the observability platform strategy and tooling across domains.
• Lead incident management practices and P0/P1 response across teams.
• Design and implement an organizational chaos engineering program and GameDay exercises.
• Drive developer experience and SRE platform automation to reduce toil.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to align reliability with business outcomes.
