CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - SRE to own programs spanning observability, incident management, and GameDay readiness. You will lead development of an observability platform, production readiness framework, and a chaos engineering program across thousands of store locations.

Strong emphasis on organizational change and data-driven reliability improvements. The role requires 8+ years in SRE/Platform Engineering with demonstrated program ownership, deep observability expertise,

Qualifications

8+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or production systems with program ownership.
End-to-end ownership of at least one major SRE program at scale.
LLM integration for operational use cases (alert summarization, runbook generation).
Fleet-scale deployment reliability with edge/store-scale experience.
Organizational change management at program scale.
TIC certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Architect the observability platform strategy end-to-end for large-scale systems.
Define the reliability signals and SLIs/SLOs across domains.
Own production readiness and incident management frameworks.
Lead chaos engineering and GameDay exercises to prove readiness.
Drive gradual, governed deployment and drift detection across fleets.
Design and operate a data-driven postmortem and learning loop program.
