Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – SRE to own the reliability posture of an assigned domain. You will design alerting, own SLOs, lead incident command for production issues, and partner with domain owners to shift reliability left into design.

You will mentor engineers, diagnose complex distributed systems, tune ML-based anomaly detection, and drive reliability practice adoption across teams in a large healthcare retail technology environment.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related production-systems roles.
3+ years operating cloud-native distributed systems at production scale with on-call responsibility.
Experience as on-call Incident Commander for P1/P2 incidents.
Experience tuning time-series anomaly detection models in production.
Strong programming in Python, Go, or Java.
Experience designing SLIs, SLOs, and managing error budgets.
Deep observability platform experience: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
Familiar with streaming data platforms such as Kafka or ClickHouse.

Responsibilities

Own SLI/SLO health for your domain end-to-end, monitor error budgets, and drive proactive burn-down actions.
Design multi-signal alerting strategies beyond threshold alerts and validate against production ground truth.
Tune and maintain ML-based anomaly detection models in production and adjust thresholds.
Lead Production Readiness Reviews and own readiness gates for production deployments.
Lead postmortems, write runbooks, and drive continuous improvement.
Mentor SE-level engineers on SRE craft and reliability practices.
Serve as on-call Incident Commander for domain incidents and coordinate bridges to resolution.
