Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to join our growing spacecraft payload team in Austin, TX. You will lead the complete lifecycle of next‑generation power electronics hardware for satellites, from architecture definition to production support.

Expect hands‑on design, modeling, and verification across DC‑DC converters, power stages, and EMI/EMC considerations. You will define power system architectures, perform trade studies for SWAP‑C, and drive board bring‑up, testing,

Qualifications

BS or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
9+ years of experience designing analog and power electronics.
Experience with power architectures and SWAP-C trade studies.
Experience with DC-DC converters and various converter topologies.
Experience with PCB layout tools and power electronics testing.

Responsibilities

Define electrical power system architecture and derive subsystem requirements.
Design DC-DC converters, motor drives, inverters, and power management circuits from concept to production release.
Lead board bring-up, verification testing, and production transition.
Develop test plans, requirement matrices, and qualification strategies.
Mentor younger engineers and lead a small team.
