Job summary

CesiumAstro seeks a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design and verification of advanced power systems for space payloads. You will drive power architecture definition, converter topologies, and PCB-level implementation from concept to production.

Ideal candidates have 9+ years of experience in power electronics for aerospace, strong modeling skills, and hands-on lab expertise with instrumentation and PCB design tools. Join a collaborative, mission-focused team.

Qualifications

9+ years of analog and power electronics design experience
Experience with power systems SWAP-C trade studies
Hands-on testing with oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads and signal generators

Responsibilities

Define electrical power system architecture and derive power subsystem requirements
Design DC-DC converters, motor drives, inverters, and power management circuits from concept to production release
Perform detailed analog and power electronics design across single and multi-output supplies
Model and analyze designs including worst-case (WCA), stress, FMEA, reliability and power integrity
Develop verification plans, requirement matrices, integration and qualification test plans
Lead board bring-up and design verification testing of power electronics circuits
Lead system integration, qualification campaigns, and release to production
Mentor engineers and foster knowledge sharing
Lead a small team of power electronics engineers
Conduct research to drive innovation and IP in power electronics
