Job summary

CesiumAstro is hiring a Staff Communication Systems Engineer in Florida to lead space-based communications projects. You will define system requirements, support architecture concepts, and act as liaison across engineering, program management, and external customers.

The role requires deep experience with space payloads, antennas, RF systems, and a track record of multi-discipline coordination in a startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with space-based communication payloads.
• Practical experience with antenna and RF systems.
• Experience working with product/component developers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements and ensure interface compatibility across physical and functional domains.
• Collaborate with program management for scheduling and coordination.
• Serve as primary outward-facing technical liaison with external customers.
• Coordinate communications between program management, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Develop system engineering processes for requirements management and traceability.
• Perform risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
• Identify and resolve impediments affecting engineering progress.
• Promote efficiency and continuous improvement across programs.
