Job summary

CesiumAstro is hiring a Staff Communication Systems Engineer to drive space-based communication payload projects and lead technical discussions with customers and partners. You will shape system concepts, designs, and CONOPS while coordinating across engineering, management, and manufacturing teams.

The role emphasizes strong communication, risk assessment, and progress tracking in a fast-paced aerospace environment with stock options and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience with space-based communication payloads preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements, assess interfaces, and ensure compatibility of system parameters.
• Coordinate with program management for scheduling and cross-functional alignment.
• Be the primary outward-facing technical contact with external customers for baseline discussions.
• Act as liaison between management, engineering, and manufacturing for clear communications.
• Contribute to system engineering processes for requirements management and traceability.
• Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting progress of engineering teams.
