Job summary

CesiumAstro seeks a Senior Communication Systems Engineer to lead system engineering for space-based communication payloads and architectures. You will coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, perform risk analyses, and drive CONOPS development with requirements traceability.

The role emphasizes hands-on, autonomous work in a startup-like environment, with opportunities to influence space architecture concepts and verify system performance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and strong background in space-based payloads.
• Experience with RF/antenna systems and space communications.
• Experience with scripting and programming languages.
• Proficiency with a requirements management tool such as DOORS or Jama.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Ability to manage work direction, milestones and progress on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define requirements and ensure interfaces.
• Support verification planning and test execution.
• Develop system engineering processes for requirements management, flow down and traceability.
• Perform risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
• Identify and resolve issues impeding progress of engineering teams.
• Foster efficiency and continuous improvement across programs.
