Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Communication Systems Modeling & Simulation engineer to lead design, development, integration and validation of communications systems for satellites and aerospace platforms.

You will apply advanced systems engineering to guide architecture, modeling, and verification from concept through production, coordinating with systems, software, RF, electrical, and mechanical teams to deliver robust, interoperable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's (or higher) in an engineering discipline with extensive systems engineering experience.
• Proven ability in modeling, simulation, and architecture development for complex communications systems.
• Strong collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams and program milestones.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of comms system architectures, interfaces, and performance models.
• Guide modeling, link analysis, performance evaluation, and trade studies across programs.
• Develop architectures and technical solutions meeting requirements and interoperability goals.
• Model architecture using a digital toolchain to support trade studies and new business efforts.
• Establish repeatable modeling processes and promote workflow automation.
• Conduct verification, validation, testing, simulation, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Resolve complex system issues via analysis of results and engineering observations.
• Lead engineering changes, improvements, and design updates to enhance performance.
• Collaborate across systems, software, RF, electrical, mechanical, and test teams.
• Prepare interface/control documentation, verification reports, and technical recommendations.
• Lead design reviews, investigations, and customer discussions.
• Promote engineering standards and best practices across programs.
