Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Communication Systems Modeling & Simulation engineer to lead design, development, integration, and validation of advanced communications systems for space and airborne platforms. You will apply systems engineering principles to deliver robust solutions from concept through verification and production.

Collaborate across cross-functional teams including systems, software, RF, electrical, mechanical, and QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8–12 years of related experience (or advanced degrees with fewer years).
• Advanced knowledge of communications systems and systems engineering principles.
• Proficiency with modeling, simulation tools, and analysis methods.
• Strong knowledge of digital comms, RF fundamentals, networking, and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop communications system architectures, interfaces, and subsystems.
• Guide system modeling, trade studies, simulation, and cross-program integration.
• Develop architectures and solutions meeting requirements and interoperability needs.
• Lead modeling workflows and promote automation across programs and product lines.
• Coordinate verification, validation, testing, and integration activities.
• Prepare technical documentation and design reviews; support customer discussions.
