Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX, is seeking a Staff Communications Systems Modeling & Simulation engineer to lead design, development, integration, and validation of advanced communications systems for satellites and airborne platforms.

You will apply systems engineering principles to develop robust solutions, guide modeling, simulations, verification, and collaboration across systems, software, RF, electrical, mechanical, and test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a relevant engineering field with extensive systems engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of communications systems, architecture, requirements, and interface management.
• Proficiency with modeling, simulation, trade studies, and engineering analysis methods.
• In-depth understanding of digital communications, RF fundamentals, networking, and interoperability.
• Experience with modeling tools, product development, configuration management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of communications system architectures, interfaces, subsystems, and performance models.
• Guide system modeling, link analysis, performance evaluation, trade studies, simulation, and system integration.
• Develop architectures and solutions that satisfy product and system requirements.
• Lead efforts to streamline modeling processes and promote workflow automation across programs.
• Coordinate verification, validation, testing, simulation, integration, and troubleshooting activities.
• Resolve complex issues through analysis of results, data, and observations.
• Support engineering changes and design updates to improve performance and interoperability.
• Lead collaboration with multiple engineering teams throughout product development.
• Prepare technical documentation, verification reports, and engineering recommendations.
• Lead design reviews, investigations, and customer technical discussions.
