Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade software powering clinician experiences and performance management. You will architect distributed systems, set technical direction, and mentor teammates to raise engineering standards.

The role requires 7–10 years of experience, strong C++/Java/JavaScript/Python, and hands-on full-stack development with cloud vendors (Azure/AWS/GCP). Travel quarterly may be needed.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in software engineering: problem solving, data structures, algorithms, patterns, concurrency.
• Experience as a polyglot software engineer using multiple languages such as C++, C#, Java, Golang, Javascript/Typescript, Python.
• 6+ months of experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude).
• Experience with full-stack development to ship and operate large-scale systems.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of RDBMS such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems end-to-end in production.
• Experience with modern front-end technologies (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS/JavaScript) and full-stack development patterns.
• Strong experience with cloud vendors: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Clear and effective communication; ability to travel quarterly or as needed.
• 7-10 years of work experience; adept at problem solving, collaboration, growth mindset and execution.
• Adept at business intelligence.
