Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver enterprise-grade software powering clinician-facing experiences and performance management. This hands-on technical leader will architect highly distributed systems, set technical direction, and elevate engineering quality through mentorship and collaboration.

The role requires 7–10 years of experience, strong polyglot programming skills, full-stack expertise, and deep knowledge of SQL and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in software engineering including problem solving, data structures, algorithms, patterns and concurrency.
• Proficiency as a polyglot software engineer across multiple languages (C++, C#, Java, Golang, Javascript, Typescript, Python).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude).
• Full-stack development experience shipping and operating large-scale systems.
• Strong SQL skills with RDBMS awareness (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Front-end technologies (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS/JS) and full-stack patterns.
• Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Excellent communication and travel readiness.
• 7–10 years of work experience.
• Strong problem solving, collaboration, and execution skills.
• Growth mindset and willingness to mentor others.
• Business intelligence awareness.
