Strive Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape the technical strategy and architecture of our platform. You will balance scalability, security, and business goals while delivering scalable, secure software and mentoring engineers across multiple teams.

You will remain hands-on, drive API and data model evolution, and partner with Product, Clinical, Data, Security, and Operations to solve the right problems in the right order.

Qualifications

• Lead the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for one or more critical domains within Strive's platform.
• Design end-to-end solutions for complex, cross-team initiatives from problem framing to production operation.
• Stay hands-on in the code, delivering high-quality, well-tested software.
• Make pragmatic architectural tradeoffs balancing scalability, security, compliance, cost, and maintainability.
• Design and evolve APIs, services, data models, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Partner with Product, Clinical, Data, Security, and Operations leaders to set priorities with measurable outcomes.
• Identify systemic technical risks, architectural limitations, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt.
• Establish reusable architectural patterns and engineering standards across teams.
• Drive platform-wide improvements in developer experience, reliability, observability, and security.
• Provide technical leadership across teams via design reviews and hands-on assistance.
• Participate in production support and incident response to drive improvement.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance to protect sensitive healthcare information.
• Mentor engineers and tech leads to grow ownership of their domains.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve productivity and quality.

• Remain hands-on in code, delivering high-quality, observable software where complexity demands senior leadership.
• Make pragmatic architectural tradeoffs balancing scalability, security, compliance, delivery speed, and maintainability.
• Design and evolve APIs, services, data models, integrations, and distributed systems to support Strive products.
• Partner with Product, Clinical, Data, Security, and Operations leaders to ensure right problems are solved in the right order.
• Identify systemic risks, bottlenecks, and debt, leading work to address them.
• Establish reusable patterns and standards to help teams build consistently.
• Drive platform-wide improvements in developer experience, reliability, observability, and security posture.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews, architecture decisions, and unblocking teams with hands-on help.
• Participate in production support and incident response to turn lessons into better architecture and tooling.
