Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a Staff Software Development Engineer to design and deliver scalable backend microservices for healthcare data exchange. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native environments to support HIPAA‑compliant platforms.

You will partner with product, architecture, security, and DevOps to ensure reliable services that integrate with EHR systems and third‑party platforms, emphasizing observability and reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years building backend apps with Java/JEE and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years deploying/operating services on Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver highly available, secure microservices for healthcare data exchange.
• Develop and maintain backend microservices exposing secure RESTful APIs.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with testing, static analysis, and progressive delivery.
• Integrate security controls and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare data standards.
• Own production readiness, latency, and cost efficiency for high-volume services.
