Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years building backend apps with Java/JEE, Spring Boot and Node.js.
• Experience designing RESTful microservices and distributed systems.
• 3+ years deploying/operating services on GCP (GKE/Cloud Run).
• Hands-on with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
• REST API design, JSON data modeling, OpenAPI/Swagger.
• CI/CD pipelines with containerized workloads (Docker).
• Familiarity with HIPAA/regulatory data exchange in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver highly available, secure microservices for healthcare data exchange.
• Develop backend microservices in Java/JEE and Spring Boot exposing RESTful APIs.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with unit/integration tests and static analysis.
• Integrate security controls (SAST/DAST, scanning, secrets management).
• Apply 12-factor, infrastructure-as-code, and config management best practices.
• Integrate services with HL7 v2, FHIR, SMART on FHIR, CCD/C-CDA standards.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance, data governance, encryption in transit and at rest.
• Own production readiness: latency, throughput, and cost efficiency.
• Perform root cause analysis and improve reliability (SLIs/SLOs).
• Implement observability with logging, metrics, and tracing.
