Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Staff Tech, Security to administer, interpret, implement and enforce DoD NISPOM policies and government directives. This on-site role supports personnel security clearances, training, and access controls across secure workspaces.

Ideal candidates will have an AA/AS degree with 6+ years of relevant security experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service experience required
• US Citizenship is required for security clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google for Business)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, initiate, and maintain personnel security clearances in DISS, eQIP, and SIMS
• Collect fingerprints and upload them into government databases
• Verify clearance and briefing status for access to secure workspaces
• Process domestic and foreign visit requests
• Submit Adverse Information Reports to the government
• Track and report foreign travel of cleared employees
• Facilitate classified meetings and security training
