Job summary

Collins Aerospace, located in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Staff Tech, Security to administer and enforce DoD security programs. This onsite role requires coordinating clearances, collecting fingerprints, and briefing on access to secure spaces, with duties spanning incident reporting and security training.

The candidate must hold US citizenship, be capable of obtaining a DoD clearance, and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Strong customer service experience required.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite, Google for Business).

Responsibilities

• Administer, interpret, implement and enforce DoD security policies.
• Coordinate, initiate, and maintain personnel security clearances in DISS, eQIP, and SIMS.
• Collect fingerprints and upload them into government databases.
• Verify clearance and briefing status for access to secure workspaces.
• Process incoming and outgoing domestic and foreign visit requests.
• Submit Adverse Information Reports to the government.
• Track and report foreign travel of cleared employees.
• Facilitate classified meetings and security trainings.
