Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking an IT Engineering Specialist to deploy and secure hardware and software in DoD-grade environments, ensuring compliance with stringent security requirements.

The role collaborates with stakeholders across Collins Aerospace and customers to maintain secure operations, provide staff support, and contribute to engineering pipelines in a fast-growing research team.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with ≥5 years' relevant experience, or an advanced degree with ≥2 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• 2+ years experience working in a classified lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and strategic management of novel research and development projects in cyber-physical security.
• Deploy new technologies in secure environments including hardware and software.
• Configure and procure hardware for secure areas following security specifications.
• Participate in planning and implementation of secure facilities and systems.
• Provide staff support such as password resets and secure data transfers.
• Maintain and improve engineering pipelines for software and hardware development.
• Cultivate partnerships with stakeholders across Collins Aerospace and customers to ensure collaboration.
