Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Engineering Specialist to join our secure technology operations team in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will deploy new hardware and software in secure environments, configure equipment, and ensure compliance with DoD security requirements while collaborating with stakeholders across RTX and Collins Aerospace.

The role demands a STEM degree with years of experience and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance; active clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 2 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and strategic management of novel research and development projects in the cyber physical security.
• Deploy new technologies in secure environments including hardware and software.
• Recommend new hardware for procurement and configure it when it arrives for use in secure areas following secure specifications.
• Participate in technical planning and implementation of our current secure areas.
• Support staff needs such as password resets and secure data transfers.
• Contribute to our engineering pipelines of software and hardware development.
• Cultivate strong partnerships with technology stakeholders across Collins business and customers to ensure collaboration and strategic alignment.
