Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, part of Piedmont HealthCare, seeks a Pharmacist to join its hospital pharmacy team in Atlanta, GA. You will manage distribution, compounding, and medication therapy monitoring for diverse patient populations and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.

Roles include supervising technicians, ensuring compliance with state licensure, and delivering patient-centered clinical services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy (Required).
• No experience required (Hospital pharmacy experience preferred).
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia Upon Hire (Required).

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents, and compounds drugs, solutions, and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses, and monitors medication therapy across age groups including dosing variations and disease states.
• Supervises pharmacy technician activities and ensures accuracy of orders.
• Engages in patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy throughout the hospital.

Required Hours: 10hr shifts with Wednesday through Tuesday rotation. Hours are 9pm-7:30am and 10pm-8:30am

Responsibilities:

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
