Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join its hospital pharmacy team. You will be responsible for distribution, compounding, and monitoring of medications for pediatric through geriatric patients, including dosing adjustments and therapy optimization.

Supervision of pharmacy technicians and ongoing professional development are expected. Georgia licensure is required upon hire, and ACPE-accredited education is essential to join the team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy is required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia upon hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for all ages including dosing variations and disease states.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and ensures competency and development in professional pharmacy practice.

Responsibilities

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
