Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist to contribute to hospital-based medication distribution, compounding, and therapy oversight. This role emphasizes safe, effective pharmacotherapy across age groups and requires leadership in supervising technicians and ensuring quality of care.

Graduation from an ACPE‑accredited program with a PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, plus Georgia licensure on hire, is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• Georgia Pharmacist license; licensure required upon hire.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; no experience required.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for all ages.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and monitors orders filled by staff.
• Maintains competency and pursues ongoing professional development.
• Participates in patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Required Hours: 2:30pm-11pm, 5 shifts per week, 8 hrs each. One weekend every 4^th weekend (includes Sat and Sun) Two holidays per year on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities:

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
