Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking a licensed pharmacist for night shifts (10-hour rotations: 9pm-7:30am or 10pm-8:30am). You will perform distribution, compounding and medication therapy management for diverse patient populations, supervise pharmacy technicians, and contribute to patient-focused clinical care.

Graduate of ACPE-accredited pharmacy school with a PharmD or equivalent is required. Georgia licensure is required upon hire; hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for patients across age groups including dosing variations and disease states.
• Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring orders filled by auxiliaries.
• Maintains competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice.
• Performs patient-focused clinical activities to provide optimal medication therapy.

Required Hours:

10hr shifts with Wednesday through Tuesday rotation. Hours are 9pm-7:30am and 10pm-8:30am

Responsibilities

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
