Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking a pharmacist to support medication therapy across infant to geriatric populations. You will review, compound, dispense and monitor therapies while supervising technicians in a hospital setting.

Licensed Georgia pharmacist required upon hire; hospital experience preferred. Shifts include days, evenings and nights with weekends required, within a collaborative care environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Georgia pharmacist license required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs distribution, documentation and compounding of drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for all age groups.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and monitors orders filled by auxiliary personnel.
• Performs patient-focused clinical activities to provide optimal medication therapy.

Responsibilities:

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

Education

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy Required
