Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team in Georgia. You will contribute to distribution, compounding, dispensing, and monitoring of medications across age groups, from infants to seniors.

The role includes supervising pharmacy technicians and ensuring safe, effective therapy. A Doctor of Pharmacy degree and GA licensure are required; hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents, and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for all age groups.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and monitors orders filled by auxiliary personnel.
• Performs patient-focused clinical activities to provide optimal medication therapy.

Responsibilities

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
