Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Plano is seeking an experienced Staff Verification Engineer to lead the verification and modeling of mixed-signal Automotive PMICs, switching regulators, and related analog IP. You will collaborate with design, systems, validation, and CAD teams to drive development, integration, and sign-off of complex power devices.

The role requires advanced expertise in RNM/AMS, GLS flows, and RTL/GLS simulations, plus strong debugging and leadership skills to mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in mixed-signal or analog circuit verification.
• Deep understanding of mixed-signal verification environment architecture and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with RNM and AMS model integration.
• Proficiency in RTL and behavioral simulation tools (Spectre, Xcelium).
• Strong understanding of GLS flows and debugging GLS simulations.
• Experience with automotive PMIC design and verification.
• Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or SPICE-based languages.
• Knowledge of UVM, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect mixed-signal verification environments, including RNM and AMS model integration for PMIC designs.
• Develop verification plans and strategies for automotive PMIC products in line with safety standards (ISO 26262, AEC-Q200).
• Lead debugging of analog blocks (switching regulators, LDOs, bandgap, references) and digital RTL.
• Set up and optimize GLS flows, correlating with RTL simulation results to resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct RTL and Gate-Level simulations, analyzing timing, power, and functional correctness across PVT corners.
• Collaborate with Design, Application Engineering, ATE, and Silicon Validation for verification handoffs.
• Troubleshoot complex design issues involving analog/digital interactions using simulation and measurement.
• Drive continuous improvement of verification tools, methodologies, and AI-based solutions.
• Create and maintain verification documentation, test plans, and coverage metrics.
