Job summary

Axon 911 seeks a Staff Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of next-generation hardware from concept to high-volume production. You’ll work with ID, EE, RF, and manufacturing teams to translate requirements into robust, production-ready designs for compact, rugged devices used by public safety professionals.

You will drive ergonomic, durable, and RF-ready designs, balance constraints, and guide designs through validation and mass production.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of mechanical product design experience, ideally across ruggedized or portable electronic products.
• 5+ years of technical leadership directing teams of 3+ mechanical engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design from concept through high-volume production for compact, ruggedized hardware.
• Balance product requirements across size, weight, durability, sealing, thermal, RF performance and manufacturability.
• Design complex components using plastic injection molding, stamped metal, die casting, machining, adhesives, and bonded joints.
