Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Staff I&C Hardware Engineer to specify, design, install, and maintain instrumentation and control hardware for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities. You will lead field instrument selection, control panel design, and safety system hardware, with senior responsibility for project leadership and contractor oversight.

You will collaborate with process, mechanical, and piping engineers to ensure installation quality, regulatory compliance, and reliable production

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering.
8+ years I&C engineering experience in process industries.
Experience specifying and sizing field instruments and control valves.
Experience delivering loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, I/O lists, and cable schedules.
Experience hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety loop verification.
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and instrument data sheets.
Experience calibration, loop checking, and field commissioning.
Experience with SIS hardware including SIL verification, redundancy, and testing to IEC standards.

Responsibilities

Select, size, and specify field instrumentation.
Size and specify final control elements including valves and actuators; perform sizing and checks.
Design control panels and remote I/O architecture.
Perform hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety analysis.
Own instrumentation documentation for capital projects and turnover deliverables.
Own SIS hardware scope including SIL verification and testing.
Tune PID and regulatory control loops; commission field instrumentation.
Coordinate with process, mechanical, and piping engineers on installation details.
