Valar Atomics is building a high- performance, safe nuclear fuel manufacturing capability in Utah. We seek a Staff I&C Hardware Engineer to specify, design, install, commission, and maintain the instrumentation and control hardware for our facilities.

You will lead technical direction, mentor junior staff, and ensure safety and reliability across complex projects. You will collaborate with process, mechanical, and software teams, drive intrinsic safety and SIL strategies, and own calibration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering.
• 8+ years of instrumentation or I&C engineering experience on capital projects.
• Experience sizing field instruments and control valves.
• Ability to read P&ID, electrical schematics, and instrument data sheets.
• Hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety loop verification experience.

Responsabilités

• Specify, design, install, commission, and maintain I&C hardware for nuclear fuel facilities.
• Lead instrument index, data sheets, and loop diagrams.
• Own SIL determination and IEC 61511 verification.
• Tune PID and advanced regulatory control loops.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and piping engineers on installation details.
• Oversee vendor evaluation and mentor junior engineers.
• Perform FAT/SAT and commissioning plans.
