Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Staff I&C Hardware Engineer to specify, design, install, commission, and maintain instrumentation and control hardware for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities in Orangeville, Utah.

You will cover field instrument selection, control panel design, hazardous area classification, safety instrumented system hardware, wiring, and network infrastructure, with senior leadership on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Specify, size, and select field instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, differential pressure, analytical devices) and prepare data sheets and requisitions.
• Size and specify final control elements (valves, actuators, positioners, regulators) and perform related checks.
• Design control panels and remote I/O architecture, including enclosure layout, I/O allocation, wiring, power distribution, and safety barriers.
• Perform hazardous area classification and select equipment for classified areas per NEC/IEC standards; conduct safety loop calculations.
