Job summary

Valar Atomics Inc. seeks a Staff I&C Hardware Engineer to specify, design, install, commission, and maintain instrumentation and control hardware for nuclear fuel manufacturing.

You will lead complex projects, manage instrument data, and ensure compliance with safety standards. You will own SIS hardware scope, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers while advancing fault diagnosis and loop tuning across facilities.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of instrumentation or I&C experience in process industries.
• Experience specifying and sizing field instruments and control valves.
• Experience delivering instrumentation deliverables such as loop diagrams and I/O lists.
• Leadership of hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety verification for new/modified installations.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, install, commission, and maintain instrumentation and control hardware for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities.
• Own instrumentation engineering documentation for capital projects (instrument index, loop diagrams, I/O lists, P&ID mark-ups).
• Lead safety instrumented system hardware scope including SIL verification per IEC standards.
• Tune PID and advanced regulatory control loops; commission field instrumentation and resolve loop deviations.
